Job insecurity and workplace anxiety is a real thing. I know people firsthand who have been laid off, didn’t get a bonus or an annual raise. This can cause people to be stressed out because they may be thinking that they are next on the chopping block. What are you suppose to do if this sounds like you?

My thought is to examine to the situation for a neutral standpoint. See what truly is going on. After you know the situation, examine how you are feeling. What is driving those feelings that you are experiencing. Get to the root of those feelings. Once you understand the root of those feelings, what are some actions you can take to nurture those feelings and needs. It could be connecting with former colleagues and mentors. It could be updating your resume. It could also be time to consider transitioning to another industry or field. In the article, I also give tips to how to cope with these feelings.
